Father's Day is celebrated in Great Britain on June 16. To mark the occasion, Prince William's children addressed loving words to him – and shared a new photo.
To mark Father's Day in Great Britain on June 16, a previously unknown family photo was published on the Instagram account of Prince William and his wife Princess Kate just one day after the big “Trooping the Colour” parade in London. The 41-year-old is rarely seen dressed as casually as in the photo.
In the photo, Prince William can be seen from behind on a beach with his daughter Princess Charlotte on his left and his sons Prince Louis and Prince George on his right, against a backdrop of the sea. The snapshot was taken by Princess Kate, as the caption states. All four are wearing normal casual clothing, Charlotte is wearing denim shorts and a light blue sweater, while Prince William is wearing green shorts, a hoodie and a cap. The two boys are also wearing shorts combined with polo shirts.
The royal offspring also congratulated the heir to the throne on British Father's Day, as can be read in the title of the post: “We love you, Dad. Happy Father's Day. G, C and L.” Almost a million people “liked” the post in just a few hours.
Of course, the royal himself also took the opportunity to dedicate a message to his father, King Charles III. Just a few hours earlier, Prince William shared a photo from the old days on Instagram, showing him as a child. He and his father are playing ball, Charles in a suit and little William dressed in dungarees. “Happy Father's Day, Pa,” he wrote.
In the comments section of the post, numerous compliments and kind words quickly accumulated. “What a great photo!” wrote one user. “How cute,” “A beautiful moment between father and son,” and “Thank you for sharing this photo with us,” the followers also commented.
However, some users criticized the fact that Prince Harry is not visible in the photo. “He has two sons,” reads one comment. “Where is Harry in the picture?” also reads. After he turned his back on the British royal family in 2020, the relationship between Prince Harry and his family became increasingly worse.
