The third round of the heating law starts. Now landlords of single -family houses, companies and municipalities can also submit applications. The funding fluctuates considerably. 30 percent are minimum, but with many bonuses it can be significantly more.
All apartment owners and homeowners can now apply for state funding for the exchange of old gas and oil heating against climate-friendly alternatives. In addition to the previously beneficials, landlords of single -family houses, companies and municipalities can now also submit applications. This was announced by the competent sponsoring bank KfW.
With the third round of the controversial heating law, the procedure is therefore open to all proposed groups. Previously, private owners of apartment buildings and self -familyed single -family houses were allowed to ask for state support. Promotion was also possible for apartment owners, for example with central heating.
Up to 70 percent funding possible
At least 30 percent funding is planned, whether residential or business buildings. Up to 70 percent grant is possible – depending on income, speed and implementation of the heating exchange. An income bonus of 30 percent is scheduled for owners who live in their property themselves and have up to 40,000 euros.
By 2028, a speed bonus of 20 percent for the early exchange of old gas and oil heating as well as night storage heating and old biomass heating is added to owners. According to the ministry, there is also an additional 5 percent for heat pumps that use water, soil or waste water or use a natural refrigerant.
The new heating law generally stipulates that from 2024 each newly built -in heating must be operated 65 percent with renewable energies. However, the regulations initially only apply to new buildings in a new development area. Functioning heating can continue to be operated.
Expectations of law have so far not been met
So far, according to the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK), around 93,000 commitments have been granted. The number also includes the additional applications of owners in apartment buildings and home ownership communities. According to its own statements, the BMWK expects an increase in the funding numbers to be increased by adding the remaining groups. The number of grants per month has increased since February, but is far below expectations.
The paragraph of heat pumps, for example, had recently collapsed, as the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) announced at the end of July. 90,000 devices were sold in the first half of the year – a minus of 54 percent compared to the same period last year. The past year was still a record year for the sale of heat pumps. On request, the BMWK led an early drawing effects and higher interest rates than possible reasons for the drop in sales this year.
The BDH expects an increase in commitments to other groups. “We are therefore careful that the second half of the year will go better than the first,” said a spokesman on request. The association still expects a maximum of 200,000 heat pumps by the end of the year. The Federal Government had formulated as the goal that 500,000 heat pumps will be installed each year in 2024.
