The health of “Das Boot” actor Heinz Hoenig, who has been in hospital since the beginning of May, remains unchanged according to his management. He still needs to be mobilized, according to the statement from the news agency dpa.
Heinz Hoenig was taken to a Berlin hospital because of acute heart problems and, according to his wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig, was in an artificial coma. Shortly afterwards, he underwent a successful operation on his esophagus. An operation on his main artery is still pending.
Heinz Hoenig's wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig regularly keeps the TV star's fans up to date on how her partner is doing. On July 21, she actually wanted to appear on “stern TV am Sonntag” and share new information about the 72-year-old's health. But then there was suddenly worrying news from the clinic: she learned from the doctors that her partner's condition had worsened. Kärsten-Hoenig then canceled her appearance in the RTL studio.
The 39-year-old was still seen on the show and joined in. “Today, Heinz is doing well, given the circumstances. But “well” is always a matter of interpretation,” she reported. She described the past 13 weeks as a “rollercoaster ride” marked by highs and lows. At the moment, it is a challenge that Hoenig has to be weaned off the artificial respiration.
Heinz Hoenig's partner has recently been under fire. Since the TV star does not have health insurance, the family has to cover the high costs of medical care themselves. A burden: A call for donations was launched for the actor. Annika Kärsten-Hoenig is also said to have received private donations – but she denied this on her Instagram channel.
