The fact that baking paper is sold on rolls is practical for transport and storage, but if you want to use the baking aid, it is often a bit unruly at first.
No matter whether strips have been cut off the roll or already cut: baking paper always turns back into its original shape. You need it flat on the baking tray. Often “rolling up” means that you hold it with one hand while you maneuver the oven vegetables or the frozen pizza with the other, for example.
You could make it really easy with a simple trick. And it only takes one step.
