Today, hardly anyone knows that the term “ultrabook” was once introduced by Intel for devices with certain minimum requirements. Today they are considered powerful, high-quality and compact notebooks. Because they usually don't have a touchscreen, Ultrabooks are also Windows alternatives to Apple's MacBooks for many users. Stiftung Warentest has nine current devices in this category in its list. Seven of them have just been tested, two were tested in the spring.

One of them is Leader MacBook Pro with 14-inch display and M2 Pro chip. The devices with an M3 chip that recently came onto the market no longer made it into the current test. However, they largely only differ in their somewhat higher computing power, which would be reflected in the partial grade for the functions.
The MacBook Pro with M2 Pro, which cost an average of 2230 euros, received an overall grade of 1.6. The functions and display received very good ratings, while the testers liked the endurance, handling and versatility.
