Giant television folds into a sculpture

    -

The N1 4K is said to be the first folding television that looks like a sculpture or a piece of designer furniture when switched off. The fact that this is not just a concept can currently be seen at the CES in Las Vegas.

If you not only have a lot of space, but also a lot of money left over, you can soon spend it on what is supposed to be the first folding television, which is a real eye-catcher even when switched off. The Austrian company is presenting the luxury television with the less spectacular name N1 for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The device has a huge micro-LED screen measuring up to 165 inches, which folds up into a kind of sculpture or piece of designer furniture when necessary. In all its glory, the device is around 2.40 meters high. When you’re not watching TV, the 4K display folds in five places and folds over like a jackknife.

    No annoying lines

You can admire the spectacle for quite a while. The TV takes 60 seconds to expand to full size, and the screen takes another 25 seconds to unfold. The display can be rotated 180 degrees to both sides, and there are two 100-watt speakers in the aluminum base.

According to the manufacturer, the brightness is automatically adjusted at the fold points so that viewers do not see any annoying lines. The color depth of the display is 16 bits and HDR10+ is supported.

The N1 will be available with a 103, 137 or 165 inch folding screen in silver or champagne. C Seed has not yet announced a price, but similar outdoor televisions from the manufacturer cost around 200,000 euros or even more. The expensive fun isn’t over too quickly; the micro-LEDs are said to have a lifespan of up to 100,000 hours.
