In March, the “X-Men” star made her illness public. Now Olivia Munn has said yes to the man who is supporting her during this difficult time: comedian John Mulaney.
The 44-year-old reported on her double mastectomy and the reconstruction of her breasts. Olivia Munn also underwent a hysterectomy to remove her uterus. A few weeks ago she had her “fifth and hopefully final operation in my battle against breast cancer,” she wrote on her account in May.
During this difficult time, her long-term partner John Mulaney has been a particular support. She is infinitely grateful to him “for the nights he spent researching what each procedure and medication meant and what side effects and healing I could expect. For being there for me before every operation and also when I woke up. For always putting up framed photos of our little son Malcolm so that he was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes,” Olivia Munn said in her post.
Now the actress and the “Saturday Night Live” star, who have been officially together since 2021, have tied the knot. The couple got married in an intimate ceremony at a friend's house in New York State over the weekend, reports the American “People” magazine. Only one witness and their two-year-old son were present.
“Olivia and I have been through a lot together over the past few years. Always side by side, we support each other. And as her husband, I feel both scared and protective. Even with Malcolm on her lap and me next to her, holding her hand, she has fought this illness physically on her own,” John Mulaney praised his wife's strength in a recent interview with “Vogue.”
