Stiftung Warentest is testing twelve new Bluetooth headphones and has now listed a total of 250 in-ear, on-ear and over-ear devices that are available. The test winners often cost more than 200 euros, the only very good headphones cost around 500 euros. But good headsets are available for well under 100 euros.
Just in time for the Christmas shopping season, Stiftung Warentest has expanded its list of tested Bluetooth headphones to include twelve new devices. None of them make it to the top, but two newcomers are price-performance winners who prove that good headsets don't have to cost a lot of money.
Some older top headphones are not at the top of the current list because the foundation has since adjusted its testing procedures.
Earbuds
Three pairs of earphones currently share the top spot with a quality rating of 1.7. They include the Jabra Elite 8 Activewith which the Danish manufacturer said goodbye to the industry because it could no longer or did not want to take part in the price war. Its sound is good, battery and durability are very good. The testers found wearing comfort and handling satisfactory; the headphones do not have active noise cancellation.
