It's no secret that there is tension between the two. Now Claudia Effenberg has revealed for the first time why she doesn't speak well to Verena Kerth.
She became famous overnight alongside Oliver Kahn. In 2003, Verena Kerth met the then FC Bayern star in the Munich cult club “P1” and was in a relationship with him until 2008. After the separation, the presenter is said to have had her eye on another football legend: Stefan Effenberg.
It's no secret that the two women don't get along well with each other. When asked about it in advance by moderator Melissa Khalaj, Claudia Effenberg dropped the bombshell. “I've never said this publicly before: Verena once hit on my husband. She wrote to him at night and wanted to drink wine with him.”
When the former footballer received the text message, he was sitting in a Greek restaurant with his wife and immediately gave her his cell phone. “It then said: I'm at home, I feel so alone. Would you like to drink a glass of wine?” remembers the 59-year-old. She then asked what that was about and Verena Kerth excused herself by saying that she wanted to invite them both to have a drink.
She was supposed to be asked about the topic during the broadcast, but that didn't happen. Instead, Verena Kerth and Claudia Effenberg seemed to get closer to each other over the course of the “Late Night Show”. In the end, they even resolved their differences without even talking about it again. “Is the hatchet buried now?” Melissa Khalaj wanted to know – to which both women nodded and hugged each other.
