Stiftung Warentest checks 14 more smartphones, almost all of them are middle-class and entry-level cell phones. Two around 400 euros cheap candidates stand out because they make it to the top of the best devices below 500 euros.
Middle-class smartphones have long been no more emergency solution if you can't afford a better device. On the contrary: they are now so powerful that you could wonder why you should spend more than 500 euros. This is also shown by the most recent test by the Stiftung Warentest, which has added 14 other devices from the database now almost 500 cell phones.
Nothing Phone (2a) plus
The best tested smartphone below 500 euros is now the Nothing Phone (2A) Plus. Warentest has determined an average online price of 424 euros for the device, but you can get the cell phone with a flashing back with large electrical markets for just under 380 euros.
To do this, you not only get a smartphone that has been convinced with the quality judgment 2.0, but has not been weakened in any test category. In the basic functions that make up 30 percent of the grade, the Nothing Phone (2a) plus grade 1.8. WLAN connection and location proved to be very good here, voice quality, network sensitivity and computing power as good.
The goods test gave the display of the new mid-range star the grade 1.5, in the categories cameras, battery, handling and stability, the device reached consistently good grades.
Google Pixel 8a
The Google Pixel 8a can be found in online trading from around 390 euros. It takes second place in the class up to 500 euros with the total grade of 2.1. His basic functions, like the cameras, handling and the stability, received good reviews, the display of the Pixel 8a proved to be very good in the test.

A great advantage of the Pixel 8a is that it receives Android and security updates for seven years from publication. With Nothing Phone (2a) Plus it is only three and four years.
Two more expensive devices in front
The best of the newly tested smartphones is that Xiaomi 14t Profor which you have to leaf around 600 euros. It reached the overall grade 1.8 with a very good display and a large endurance, cameras, stability and basic functions of the device are good. The examiners only rated the handling satisfactorily, since the unlocking could be outwitted by face scan with a photo and a manual was missing.
The second place among the 14 newcomers shows that Motorola Edge 50 Ultra With the quality judgment 1.9. You get it from around 680 euros. Stiftung Warentest gave him good grades in all categories.
The cheapest overall still good (2.5) newcomer is that Samsung Galaxy A16that can be found for just under 170 euros. The screen and handling of the smartphone are good, basic functions, cameras, battery and stability are satisfactory.
