Donald and Melania Trump's first date was so unconventional

Exactly 20 years ago, Donald and Melania Trump tied the knot. A few months ago she told how the US President won his wife over.
On January 20, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. Just a few days later, on Wednesday, the next highlight awaits the 78-year-old: his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife Melania Trump. The wedding took place on January 22, 2005. The entrepreneur and his current partner met at the end of the 1990s – that's when their love story began in an unusual way.
A few months ago, on the occasion of the publication of her memoirs on October 8th last year, Melania Trump gave a rare interview. The controversial, conservative US broadcaster Fox News published the conversation with the 54-year-old. “It’s time for me to tell my story – and the truth,” said Melania Trump.
In the interview, the 54-year-old looked back, among other things, at the beginning of her relationship with Donald Trump. She revealed how unusual her first date with her now-husband was. Because the two didn't meet in a restaurant, café or cinema: the entrepreneur took her to a property that he was planning to buy. Apparently it wasn't a problem for Melania: it was “very nice”.
“Because we were alone in the car for about an hour or an hour and a half. No other noises, no other people,” said Melania Trump. “He was already known as a celebrity at the time, so it was really nice to just be alone with him.” Melania Trump immediately felt a connection to him. “I loved the vision he had. And the connection we had. It was very special.” What she loves about her husband is “his[en] Humor, his personality, his friendliness, he is very special. His positivity. His energy. It's incredible,” she enthused.
Melania Trump also spoke about her engagement to the entrepreneur in 2004 in the interview: “It was my birthday. And it was the Met Gala. All in one evening. We were already at home, both in gala outfits. Then he had it Application made.” They married in January 2005. Their son Barron was born about a year later. For Melania Trump it is the only child; Donald Trump has a total of five children.
The couple did not have any more children, although Donald Trump apparently wanted more, as his wife revealed in the interview. “It was always perfect for me,” said the 54-year-old. Donald “encouraged her to have more.” “But I said that I'm completely happy with a child because it's a very busy life. And I know how busy he is. And I'm responsible for everything. So it's just perfect.”
According to Melania Trump, her husband only later shared his political ambitions with her. She didn't know anything about it at the time of her engagement. “We didn't talk about it at the time.” Only a little later did he mention that he wanted to get involved in politics. When asked what she thought about her husband running for president again, Melania Trump was clear: “I support him.”
Melania Trump also supported her husband at his inauguration on Monday. During the election campaign, however, she was repeatedly conspicuous by her absence. In general, there are always rumors of crisis surrounding the Trumps' marriage, because joint appearances have become increasingly rare in recent years.
