If you don't want to clean hard floors with a mop and bucket, you can get a vacuum cleaner in addition to the vacuum cleaner. If you want to buy both new, you can also go straight for the Tineco Floor One Switch S7. This is a device combination that shares a battery-powered motor and a station. This not only saves space, but also money – but only if there is not much carpet in the household, as the practical test by ntv.de showed.

You can see straight away that this is not an equal duo once you have taken the devices out of their (far too opulent) packaging and assembled them. While the mop-vacuum cleaner offers the full range of features as individual devices from the manufacturer, the bagless vacuum cleaner is a stripped-down version of the Tineco Pure One S15 Pro. With it, you only have the choice between full power and eco mode. The Switch S7 vacuum cleaner does not offer a smart automatic function. There is also no app support or a comprehensive filter system.
So the vacuum cleaner in the shared station is literally the sidekick of the vacuum cleaner and mop. And that makes the main use of the combination clear: it is primarily intended to clean hard floors. And the vacuum cleaner is ideally suited for this.
Good suction power on smooth floors and upholstery

It fits well in the hand and its active turbo brush, which lights up the path, gets down to business. It brushes hair, etc. off an internal comb, meaning you rarely have to use the cleaning tool that Tineco provides. It takes a while for the motor to start working, but with cupboards whose bottoms are less than 10 centimeters from the floor, it quickly reaches its limits, or its tube hits wood.
For floorboards and other hard floors, the Eco mode is usually sufficient, as it allows the battery to last a long time. On short-pile carpets, maximum power will get the most out of them, but you won't be able to clean much more than 50 square meters on one battery charge. The Switch 7 vacuum cleaner is not suitable for deep or even long-pile carpets.

Then you fill the fresh water container with water and some cleaning agent, a bottle of which is included in the delivery.
You don't need the app to work with the device. There is a display on the motor that shows the charge level and the operating mode, which you can switch between at the touch of a button. There is an automatic mode, maximum power, a mode for mopping up/vacuuming up large amounts of liquid, and manual settings. Another button activates or deactivates WiFi and you can adjust the volume and language of the announcements.
Clear and useful app
The app is primarily used for optimal preparation and information. You can set whether you want to work with water only or also with cleaning agents. The running speed can also be set here. Great: You can add or deactivate modes to change the operating mode more quickly.
For normal dirt, the automatic mode is fine, as it leaves no visible marks on the floor. Another good thing is that you can get very close to the skirting boards with the roller. The “Suction Mode” removes spilled milk, oatmeal, etc. effortlessly. If sticky dirt has dried firmly, there is no way around the “Max Mode”. In the test, it removed a ketchup-mustard mixture that was a few hours old from the floor. However, it did need a few passes to do this.

If the encrustations are several days old, the vacuum cleaner is usually not enough – but a mop won't get you very far here either. If you don't want to use a hand brush, you can fill the tank with warm water as long as it stays below 60 degrees. But even then you shouldn't expect miracles from the Tineco Floor One Switch S7. It just makes the job easier, but doesn't clean any better than the traditional method.
And you don't usually get your hands dirty either. The vacuum cleaner washes the roller and hose in the charging station automatically. Hot air at 70 degrees is used, which means the material is almost dry within two minutes and bad smells are avoided. This was confirmed in tests lasting several weeks.
The only thing that can get a bit nasty is when you have to empty and rinse the dirty water container. You may also have to clean the station's drip tray, but that's about it.
The battery motor can be changed in a matter of seconds. In automatic mode, it is sufficient for vacuuming and mopping even in larger apartments. If it is operated at maximum power, however, a forced break may be necessary after cleaning a large room. At least not yet, you can buy a second battery motor. Even if it were possible, you would not be able to charge it with the vacuum cleaner.

You can currently get the Tineco Floor One Switch S7 for around 760 euros. That would be quite a lot of money for a single device, but for the combined performance shown, the duo offers good value for money. This is especially true for apartments with smooth floors; for households with a lot of carpet, the vacuum cleaner is not sufficient.
