Mainz 05 makes a record transfer of 30 million euros

“It's a very good club, a very young team. It will be fun,” said Gruda. “We approved this transfer after careful consideration and a heavy heart,” said Mainz sports director Christian Heidel: “Mainz 05 cannot afford to reject such an offer in the economic framework of the overall package.”
Gruda came to the FSV youth in 2018, and in 2023 he made the leap to the professionals. With good performance, he had a large proportion of the Mainz relegation. National coach Julian Nagelsmann also invited Gruda as a supplementary in the European Championship preparation.
