A lawnmower is a machine that needs to be operated with care. Things get bad when it doesn't work properly.
The power tool manufacturer Dewalt is currently informing about a safety recall of certain lawn mowers. Water could penetrate the control panel and cause a short circuit, writes Dewalt: “This can in turn lead to the lawn mower no longer being able to be turned off or switching on unintentionally when the operator presses the start button, which poses a risk of injury.”
According to the information, lawn mowers with the model numbers listed below that were manufactured in 2023 or before week 14 of 2024 are affected. According to the manufacturer, they should no longer be used “with immediate effect”.
These Dewalt lawn mowers are affected:
Article: DEWALT® lawn mower
Model numbers: DCMWP134, DCMWSP156, DCMWP500, DCMWSP550
Date of manufacture: in 2023 or before week 14 in 2024
Model numbers can be found above the barcode on the packaging and on the grass flap of the product. Date codes can be found on a white sticker above the barcode on the packaging and on the lawn mower body near the left rear wheel. If there is a sticker with a blue or purple dot on the packaging, the unit is not subject to recall.
Are you affected and now need to find your nearest service center or repair center? According to Dewalt, this is possible on this website (click here) or by calling +8001801743. According to Dewalt, the retailer at the place of purchase should also be able to arrange a free repair of the device.
